About us
Aardvaark’s founder is Mark Kober-Smith.
Born what seems an age ago, Mark worked in industry, studied at Goldsmith’s College, London for his
first degree, then went to Birmingham for his law studies, qualifying as a solicitor in 1990 in what is now Dibb Lupton Alsop.
He obtained a further degree in French and qualified as a translator from French while continuing to
work in the City of London as a solicitor.
He has been practising as a solicitor in London and Kent since 1990, and he qualified as a notary
public in 1998. He is fluent in French and speaks some Spanish and rather less German.
He became interested in lobbying in the course of his successful campaign to break down notarial
restrictive practices and monopolies in the U.K. and in Europe and has had his book on the subject “Legal Lobbying” published by Cavendish.
He decided to found Aardvaark in July 2004. When not lobbying, he can be found playing the guitar in
a variety of settings, and the saxophone in a soundproofed room.
Teams for lobbying can be built as the needs of the matter dictate, from an extensive network of
lawyers and other professionals.
